Upcoming Fashionable Fun Events in the SF Bay Area

Music, fashion and arts seems to be a running theme throughout the week with events such as SF Weekly's Artopia showcase, Camp Lo's evening of performance and fashion shows at John Colins and the Indie Art Music Film Fashion Party at Sub-Mission Gallery.  Whatever you do this week, enjoy yourself in style!

TUESDAY 
The highly anticipated LoveSick fashion show is happening tonight at Mighty.  The event will include a runway fashion show by local designers Alexandria von Bromssen, Amy Fink, Miranda Caroligne, Kathleen van der Spek, Rebecca Roman, Josie Adele, Benzo Couture, Velvet & Horns and Danielle Pettee.  Fabulous local fashion industry celebrity Thom Scher will be hosting the event!  This is a San Francisco Valentine tradition you won't want to miss!  Cost of admission is $25. 

Magazine Sex+Design is debuting their first print edition FOREPLAY.  Come celebrate their success with some good-natured debauchery!  The evening will include art installations and modeling of the Harputs Spring/Summer 2012 Collection.  Cost to attend is $10.
Unleash your inner God or Goddess at this Valentine's Day bash thrown by TrendyLime.  Enjoy savory appetizers from Morac, beautiful models showcasing designs from high-end shopping portal PinkWeave and a photography exhibition by Luca Sartoni.  The evening is made complete with the stylistic mixings of DJ Nader.  Cost to attend is $20.   
WEDNESDAY
Join SFMade's panel of experts discuss conventional ways and less conventional ways to fund the start-up and early stage growth of an artisanal manufacturer.  Learn about how other successful manufacturers have used a combination of asset based lending (including receivables, purchase order, inventory, equipment and real estate); socially-responsible private equity; crowd-sourcing; and innovative retail partnerships.  Cost to attend is $35.   
THURSDAY 
 SFMade, in partnership with Manex, presents Introduction to Lean Manufacturing.  Having a company that runs like a well oiled Lean machine has never been more important, especially for manufacturers!  Learn about Lean principles and how they can transform your company, how to manage work-in process inventory, how to eliminate waste, simplifying processes and operational aspects and how best-in-class manufacturers are leveraging Lean principles.  Cost to attend is $25.
Join Loft 1513 for an exclusive live window fashion presentation by local independent artists Sarah Liller and Caroline Margaoux.  Shopping, dancing, cocktails and a huge outdoor gathering garden to schmooze under the stars.
SF Weekly hosts its Fifth Annual ARTOPIA, a showcase the contestants from the Materminds contest.  The night will be filled with fun and entertainment as the finalists feature their art in various categories: Visual Art, Fashion/Design, Performing Arts and Film/Video/Media.  Guests will enjoy a hosted bar and live performances from local artists.  Cost to attend is $20.
Come experience a stimulating and theatrical fashion show by AGI Fashion Productions.  The reception is hosted by Juju The Jester and Julia Zeffiara from 6:00 pm and the vintage fashion show and entertainment starts at 7:15 pm. This is the first in a series of neighborhood fashion shows featuring the vintage collection of local shops and designers.  Cost to attend is $15.
RAW, San Francisco's fashion, art, and music monthly is back at 1015 Folsom.  This organization spotlights independent artists in film, fashion, music, hair & makeup artistry, photography, modeling, and performing art.  Each of their events feature a film screening, musical performance, fashion show, art gallery, performance art and featured hairstylist and makeup artists.  Cost to attend is $10 for ages 21 and up.     
Designer District will showcase various fashion designers from San Francisco, creating a night of phenomenal live music and fashion under one roof.  Camp Lo, a rap group from the Bronx that combines hip hop with a jazz and funk sensation, will be hosting the event and giving a dynamic performance.  Cost to attend is $15.
SATURDAY
Travel to the beautiful world of Oscar Wilde with "The Cult of Beauty: The Victorian Avante-Garde, 1860-1900" at the Legion of Honor beginning February 18, 2012 through June 17, 2012.  This look at the Aesthetic Movement of London, England will feature of series of exclusive programs featuring music, costumes, hands-on art making and more on select Saturdays and Sundays throughout the exhibition.  Programs are free with museum admission of $11.
Macy's is introducing the IDEOLOGY collection, for those who believe in the power of movement.  These clothes are designed to help you stretch, sweat and relax in maximum comfort and body beautiful style.  Cheryl Burke, professional dancer, TV sensation and spokesperson for IDEOLOGY will host a fashion presentation.  With a purchase of $50 or more, receive a gift tote bag and copy of Cheryl's biography "Dancing Lessons", as well as in-line priority to meet the star and have your book signed.  The collection ranges from $8 to $58.  Breaking a sweat couldn't look more fashionable!
Stop by this fundraiser event to help six local Senior fashion students finance their undergraduate fashion show in 2012.  In efforts to bring their art to fruition, they are reaching out to the local community and fashion industry to help raise money for their amazing collections to walk down the runway.  The consists of raffles for items donated by local businesses and DJ'd music by KiddDJ and Castle Queenside.   Donation of $13 requested at the door.
 Help B.Spoke Tailor in the Pacific Northwest this spring!  This fashion biking attire company will be attending the Pedal Nation bike show in Portland and is having a fundraiser to cover expenses.  The event will include a sale of limited supply recycled wool underlayers and knickers, plus a raffle for many great prizes.   A $10 to $15 donation is requested at the door and includes a drink and piece of homemade pie.
 Enjoy an artistic evening of fashion and entertainment.  There will be music performances by Scarlet Stoic, In Letter Form, Levianthan, Chelsea Coleman, Xavier Toscano, Cookies and Sabrina Signs.  Models will be on hand showcasing the fashion of Fadia, Devora and Backline.  The evening will also include a film short and visual art presentations.
The 45th Carnaval Ball at Cocomo Cafe will be an evening of energetic singers and performers from all over the world.  Featured dancers and models will capture the excitement of the Brazilian festival through their choreography and their spectacular costumes.  Both Brazilian dance and fashion are stimulating!   Advanced tickets are $35.
