Fashion a memorable Valentine's Day

"How are you spending Valentine's Day", heard on the street this morning.  "We already celebrated last night.  A card and box of chocolates." a woman dryly replied, hinting that the holiday isn't that special.  Valentine's Day can seem commercial and overrated with the pressure and expectations of the romantic evening, consisting of the perfect dinner and perfect gift .  For a memorable Valentine's Day of fashion, art and good-natured debauchery, here are the top event picks of the evening:
In what has become a celebrated Valentine's Day tradition, San Francisco fashion designer Alexandria von Bromssen is hosting her fifth annual LoveSick runway fashion show entitled "Clinically Attracted", dedicated to those who can't commit to getting committed.  The festivities start at 7:00 pm, which include  a performance from the band The Goldenhearts, a live model jewelry installation, a trunk show and a photo booth.  This is the perfect opportunity to buy your sweetheart an item of her choosing and a get a memorable photo of the evening.  The runway show starts promptly at 9:15 sharp and will feature von Bromssen's collection  along with those of local designers Amy Fink, Miranda Caroligne, Kathleen van der Spek, Rebecca Roman, Josie Adele, Benzo Couture, Velvet & Horns and Danielle Pettee.  After the fashion show, continue the evening with DJ'd music and dancing.
For some high-fashion mingling, stop over at the sultry Harlot Club for the "Gods & Goddesses Ball" by international fashion event producers Trendy Lime.  As you enjoy savory appetizers by restaurant Morac, beautiful models will be mingling, showcasing designs from high-end online shopping portal PinkWeave.  Luca Sartoni, an Italian blogger and social media expert with a passion for photography, will present an "Urban Gods & Goddesses" photo-show.  Sartoni's exhibit is inspired by his recent travels to Austin Beverly Hills, Vienna, Berlin and Madrid.  The photo show is about the people he encountered, capturing their heart and soul - the essence of art with no restrictions.  The evening is rounded out by popular Bay Area DJ Nader Tehrani, who will please the crowd with a mix of international house music throughout the evening.
End the evening with some Sex+Design!  The pull-no-punches magazine is debuting their first print edition FOREPLAY, which is a cross between a coffee table art book and magazine filled with scintillating articles and photography.  Since their May 2010 launch, the online magazine has been a tremendous Internet success as they explore the balance between sophisticated living and downtown debauchery.  The event will include art installations and modeling of the Harputs Spring/Summer 2012 Collection.  Sex+Design parties are known for being exceptional, and this one will be sure to please.

Whatever you choose to do on Valentine's Day, enjoy yourself in style.  Happy Valentine's Day!
