Levi’s® Brand Partners with Giants for a Charity Home Run

San Francisco has been Levi Strauss & Co.'s hometown for 157 years, so it's clear who their playing favorites are when it comes to the World Series. Levi’s is giving fans another reason to root for the Giants and, in particular, their heavy hitters. They’re donating $1,000 to the Junior Giants for every home run hit by a Giants player.
Even a Rangers fan would have to love the idea behind the Junior Giants, a free, non-competitive baseball program for boys and girls, ages 5 to 18, giving “at risk” youth a meaningful alternative to drugs, gangs and crime. Some 16,000 kids across California and into Nevada and Oregon are part of the program Junior Giants. The flagship program of the Giants Community Fund, the Junior Giants provides all of the uniforms, equipment, and training necessary to run a league as well as tickets to select Giants games so the youth can experience a Major League Baseball game.
The San Francisco Giants hold the existing record of 14 home runs scored against the Anaheim Angels during the 2002 Fall Classic. The Levi’s® brand challenges the SF Giants to beat this record by hitting at least 15 home runs during the 2010 Fall Classic.
Shortstop Juan Uribe scored the first Giants homer in last night’s opening game of the World Series. So that’s at least $1,000 from Levi Strauss & Co. to the Junior Giants.
So, here’s hoping for many more home runs to come – for the Giants and their young partners.
