Basics of a Supermodel

Christy Turlington.
The "Big Six" supermodels of the 80's and 90's are obvious: Naomi Cambell, Christy Turlington, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, and Kate Moss.  All multi-million dollar models, prominent in media, crossing over into movies and television shows, cited in gossip columns and becoming household names.  First name recognition is a solid indication of super model status, in addition to recognizable covers across all world-wide magazines.  But what made these women supermodels are several factors.
Naomi Campbell.
Supermodels have a balanced bone structure.  No receding chins.  No prominent nose.  No receding forehead.  No shallow cheek structure.  No bump on the nose.  They have classic sculpted features.  Perfectly balanced profile where there is a straight line from the forehead to the chin.  Elegant profile where no features stands out and out of place as per industry standards.
Claudia Schiffer.
Supermodels have a presence.  Not only are they beautiful, but they have a stature and personality in their photography and catwalk.  An individual look is key to make a statement and stand apart from other models.
Kate Moss.
Supermodels have a balanced body structure and are are tall (with the exception of Kate Moss).  All are over 5'10" and are about 115 -125 pounds.  The face and body should be balanced out without one area seeming too prominent.
Linda Evangelista.
Supermodels know how to work it on the runway and off the runway.  Their presence is big regardless of what they are doing.
Cindy Crawford.
Whatever type, models can range from those who do lifestyle shoots to those who do fashion.  Supermodel stats aren't necessary for all models, but primarily for those who want to earn top dollar and high-fashion modeling contracts within the industry.
