Ubergizmo.com the world’s coolest gadget blog is bringing the best of technology, art, fashion and photography together in a single event, the 2nd Annual Digital Summer event on August 25th at Temple in San Francisco. Part of the Digital Seasons series, Digital Summer celebrates the intersection of innovation and entrepreneurialism with an evening of cutting edge designers, engineers, photographers, DJ's, makeup artists and jewelers.
“We came up with idea after attending hundreds of technology events where the majority of the attendees where men, and they weren’t excited by the technology they were seeing. They thought they had seen it all,” said Eliane Fiolet, publisher of Ubergizmo.com. “We wanted to have a fun event with a mixed crowd not only of men and women but of people in industries that rarely interact with each other. The best thing is that start-up feeling you get from everyone no matter what they do. It’s a very supportive and innovative energy all around the room.”
Sponsors for this year Digital Summer include Intel and Verizon Wireless. Intel plans to showcase the participating designers’ clothing via its Internet-connected touch-screen signage powered by the Intel® Core™i7, allowing people to experience how in-store shopping may become more personalized and interactive.
“Fashion and photography meet technology at Digital Summer, a fun event that explores what’s possible when your creativity is unleashed,” said Danielle Mann, manager, Intel Embedded and Communications Group. “Intel is known for making processors, the computer’s ‘brains,’ but what we pride ourselves on is providing the best technology for people to pursue and share their passions to the fullest – be it fashion, art or photography.”
Getting Silicon Valley to dress up might seem to be a challenge, but last year’s Digital Summer was twice as large as expected with over 800 attendees with more than 60 percent women. To make this year’s event even better, Digital Summer will deliver the following:
• Studio Photo-Shoot by Eye-Fi (Feel like a Model!) with real time upload on screen
