Purpose: Fundraiser for the Buena Vista Elementary School
I love partying, but partying and with a purpose is more meaningful and rewarding. It was an evening of art, fashion, food and music with 100% of proceeds going to the Buena Vista Elementary School. Due to statewide financial cuts in funding for public schools, Buena Vista has about $120,000 less in their budget than last year. They already made preliminary cuts of $80,00 by reducing staff, however they are trying to raise $40,000 to maintain such programs as their Early Reading Program, ELD class, Art Program, Playworks Program, Dance Program, in addition to others. The event itself was fabulous. The atmosphere was stylish, casual, friendly and energetic. There was great music, entertainment and artwork. This event for a good cause brought out the best in people.
